Nothing Bundt Cakes partners with BeGreat Together to fund public education

BeGreat Together has partnered with Nothing Bundt Cakes, a popular bakery chain, to raise funds in support of K-12 public school programs. The collaboration aims to bridge the funding gaps in public education and promote personal and professional growth for youth.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is celebrating the opening of its 500th location in the country in Shawnee Mission, Kansas (12258 Shawnee Mission Pkwy). On Friday, May 5th,  proceeds from bundt cake purchases will go directly to BeGreat Together to support education initiatives.

"When we first learned about BeGreat Together, it was an easy decision for us to partner with them. We put a lot of value in the communities that we put our businesses in, and that includes education,” says Alex Edwards, one of the owners of Nothing Bundt Cakes. “To be able to support education is very important for us. We've been in business for 10 years now, and I always think a lot about the future and the future of our employees. If we invest in education now, we believe we can make a positive difference in our collective future."

The importance of investing in education cannot be overstated. According to the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics, higher levels of per-pupil spending are positively associated with higher student achievement, and lower levels of per-pupil spending are negatively associated with student achievement. Additionally, according to a 2018 report by the Government Accountability Office, high-poverty schools, which serve a higher proportion of students from low-income families, often have fewer resources, including experienced teachers, advanced coursework, and up-to-date technology, compared to low-poverty schools. Because many public schools face funding gaps, this impedes their ability to provide quality programs and resources to their students, which is why community solutions from local businesses, philanthropies, and supporters like you can truly make a difference in the education landscape.

We are urging supporters to come out and purchase bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes on Friday, May 5th. By rallying our key partners and networks, we believe we can make a significant impact on the lives of K-12 public school students through this fundraising event. Help us support our mission of improving student access to opportunity and closing funding gaps so that we can ensure success for their futures.

Nothing Bundt Cakes' partnership is a great example of how businesses can make a positive impact in communities. Through their commitment to education, they are not only supporting the future of their employees but also investing in the future of the community. By purchasing a bundt cake on May 5th, you can help make a difference in a student's life today. Let's be great together.
