What is Campus Cruisers?

BeGreat Together, in collaboration with three UMKC students, launched an innovative internship program called Campus Cruisers, aimed at empowering students to become catalysts for positive change within local public schools.

Campus Cruisers, spearheaded by UMKC students and alumni Arianna Hirsch, Jenna Kiefer, and Regan Rudicel, with support from professor Misty Campbell, has been developed as part of BeGreat Together's DocuCourse Narrative Transformation and Community Impact class, taught at UMKC in fall 2023. This groundbreaking internship program offers unique opportunities for individuals to actively engage and volunteer in local public education institutions, providing invaluable service and support to both teachers and students.

Reading Session w/ Grace United Early Childhood Center

Campus Cruisers, featuring Jenna, Arianna, and Regan, orchestrated an engaging reading session at Grace United Early Childhood Center, where each participant shared a different captivating children's book with the eager young students. This dynamic trio, embodying the spirit of educational empowerment, curated a diverse selection of stories to inspire curiosity and imagination among the children.

Art Activity w/ Megh Knappenberger and Grace United Early Childhood Center

On April 9th, Kansas City artist, Megh Knappenberger will partner with Campus Cruisers to host an exciting art event for Grace United Early Childhood Center. Megh, whose work has been featured in various publications and celebrated locally for her captivating pieces, will lead the children through a series of engaging activities and lessons designed to foster creativity and develop essential skills through art. From exploring different artistic techniques to discovering the power of self-expression, this event promises to be an inspiring opportunity for young minds to delve into the world of art under Megh's expert guidance.
